Learner of the week 27th November 2020

America North

 

Jay Sonpal and Mo Shablak for demonstrating excellent thinking and reasoning in our first Let’s Think maths lesson.

Darcey Crosswell and Jessica Fielder for showing fantastic determination and. Never Giving Up attitude when approaching converting mixed numbers to improper fractions.

Asia South

Florence Dawdry - Florence wrote a fantastic piece of creative writing that showed the emotions of an inanimate object. This diary entry was carefully thought about independently and Florence really impressed me. Well done!

Asia North

Oliver Tomlinson has been awarded Learner of the Week this week due to his hard work and dedication in the writing lesson. We looked at diaries of different inanimate objects, analysing the thoughts and feelings of objects such as a paper clip! The class wrote their own and Oliver’s was really creative!

Africa North

Evelyn Sandhu has been awarded learner of the week this week for her fantastic presentation in her maths work. It is particularly important to have clear presentation when calculating long multiplication and Evelyn did an excellent job!

Africa South

Our learner of the week is Livvy Bulfin.  Livvy consistently works hard and achieves great results.  This week she has planned, written and evaluated a letter which was not only beautifully presented but included a good summary of our text as well as the required literary features! Great work Livvy.

Europe North

This week our Learner of the Week is Alana Nicholls for her excellent attitude to learning and her 'Never Give Up' approach in maths.  She has shown improved confidence this week and has had her hand up lots to give some super answers.  Well done Alana.

Europe South

 

This week our learners of the week are Yarik Scherbak and Freya Plumb. 

 

Yarik has shown a super attitude to his learning including being independent in getting started on the task in hand. Keep it up Yarik! 

Freya has shown multiple IGNITE Values this week. She has worked superbly both independently and with a partner, never giving up even if she has found a task challenging. Well done Freya!  

Learner of the Week - 20th November 2020

 

Asia North

Noah Stubbs is learner of the week because of his amazing attitude in maths. He has show the Ignite value of never giving up. He has also helped his learning partner To understand the concepts of Factors and multiples. Keep it up Noah!

Alfie Hopper also wins learner of the week but this award is based upon our anti bullying week. We are awarding the most thoughtful and kind member in each class with this special extra recognition of their wonderful personal qualities.

Asia South

 

Lexi Turner - Lexi has demonstrated amazing enthusiasm for her learning this week, whilst we've been getting into our Space unit. She has particularly excelled in her presentation when given free choice and independence to choose how work is set out. Her books look super! Well done Lexi. 

Madi Parker - Madi has been nominated as our 'kindness' learner of the week because of her thoughtfulness to others. This week she was a great friend because she spotted a few children looking upset or worried in the classroom and she went to check on them to see if everything was okay, and whether she could help. Well done Madi!

Europe North

Our learner of the week this week is Jaxon Rhodes.  Jaxon has been a super coaching partner and has shown an excellent attitude to his learning.  He has worked particularly well in English, Maths and Geography this week.

Our second Learner of the Week is Grace Houghton.  This week is Anti-bullying week and Grace has shown that she is always kind to those around her.  What a fantastic person to have in our class!

Europe South

 

Daniel Matthews - Daniel has been a super problem solver in maths this week in which worked well as a team with his coaching partner to find all the possibilities. Keep it up Daniel!  

Our second learner of the week for Anti-bullying week is Isla Smallpiece. Isla is a kind and caring individual who always puts others before herself, looking out for her peers when they are upset or need a helping hand. What a super member to have in Europe South class! 

AFRICA NORTH

Our learner of the week this week is Harrison Spark. Harrison has work very hard in maths this week. He persevered when he found something difficult  and was able to complete the challenge

Africa South

Our learner of the week is Kurt Bassett.  He has demonstrated great determination in his maths this week.  We are working on multiplication, and he was not feeling confident - even though he solved the problems.  He then progressed onto multiplying 3 digits by 1 digit - great work! 

America North

Harry Elcock - For Harry's persevering attitude towards Maths and working hard on being independent when solving subtraction questions. Well done!

Asia North

 

Anya Hutchison is awarded Learner if the Week for showing amazing evaluator skills in her writing of a newspaper article describing the Moon landing in 1969. Anya was able to demonstrate her understanding of all the concepts taught and also edited her work effectively and independently.

Africa North

Esme Stevens

Esme has been awarded learner of the week because she always gives 100% in every lesson. Her maths this week is just one of many examples where she has demonstrated her understanding and shown her improvements. 

Africa South

Ritvik Kuncham

Ritvik showed great creativity in his imaginary creature.  His drawing is very detailed and every part of the creature has been clearly described.  Great work.

Europe South

 

James Dodd - James has been a fantastic team worker this week with his coaching partner. He has also been conscientious in his contributions made to whole class discussions. Keep it up James!

Anissa Long has been awarded Learner of the Week for her enthusiasm and engagement during our Outdoor Learning Day.  I particularly liked her leaf friend for Leaf Man.

 

Asia South

 

Madi has been fantastic this week, specifically in English when retelling 'A Christmas Carol' with her group. She showed great teamwork when supporting others whilst they evaluated their writing as a whole piece to ensure it made sense. Super work Madi!

Asia North

Samuel O'Brien is awarded Learner of the Week this week due his excellent writing - he used great vocabulary, varied sentence lengths and it flowed beautifully. It was such a pleasure to read. All his hard work and perseverance has paid off as his writing has really improved.

America South

Cait Willis and Bradley Yaldren for great teamwork in researching and planning their George Meleis biographies.

America North

Sophia Roberts for incredible innovation using Shaun Tan’s illustrations and The Red Tree book as inspiration for an amazing, thoughtful piece of artwork.
