PE - Led by Miss Cunningham and Mr Leigh
At the end of KS2 our children will understand the importance of daily physical activity and the positive impact that movement has on their physical and mental wellbeing. They will have experienced a wide range of physical activities and have the confidence to continue to engage in physical activity and school sports as they move into KS3 and beyond.
All our children will be given the opportunity to engage in competitive sports and activities. They will enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing with each other. They will learn how to evaluate and recognise their own success.
Children will leave Merdon able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres. They will be able to use a range of strokes effectively and perform self-rescue in different water-based situations.
What our children say...
'You get strong, fit and healthy'
'Learn new sports and become better at them'
'You can try new things and see what you enjoy'
'You release energy and get a break from the classroom'
'We learn to work as a team'
'It's fun!'
