Year 6 were given a portion of a piece of artwork and used watercolours to colour match and complete the painting using their knowledge from World War 2.
‘Blitzed Site’ is an oil painting produced by L.S Lowry in 1942. During the Second World War Lowry worked as a fire watcher in Manchester and was usually stationed on the roof of a city centre department store. He recalled being the ‘first down in the morning to sketch the blitzed buildings before the smoke and grime had cleared’
