Year 6 were introduced to 'Arts Week' with a soundscape, which inspired the composition of a descriptive narrative.  This led on using two snippets of the Courtyard painting to colour match and complete, having been read a story that went some way to describing the scene.  After a full exploration of the painting itself, the artist and the context of Delft in the 1600's, children were tasked to collaboratively re-create the painting in the style of an artist they had studied during their time in Year 6 -  a wide variety of artists including: Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Brian Selznick, Bridget Riley and Shaun Tan.
