After the visit from the Dragonologist last half term, we looked back at the dragons we created for the missing pages of the Dragonology book. We unpicked the features of a description and practised the skills we would need.
We worked on using adverbials, extending sentences and thinking about ‘painting a picture’ with our words.
We examined WAGOLLs and then planned and wrote own own pages.
We used different colour pens to help use focus our editing.

Following on from our dragon descriptions, we have been learning all about writing a detailed set of instructions.
The children were giving instructions to Miss Johnson-Hall and Mrs Simmonds on how to make a jam sandwich but it didn't go very well, as some of the instructions were missing. You can imagine what happened when they told the teachers to "put the butter on the bread"...
Thankfully, we have since polished our knowledge of instructions and have looked at "How to catch a Soupee Bird" for ideas.
