French
Year 4 have been using the Atlases to locate places in France. We have also been discovering what countries in the world speak French, famous French artists and sportspeople and inventors.
We have been making fantastic posters to showcase our knowledge about the Fete du Citron which is an annual event in Menton in the South East of France. This year’s theme is the Olympics. We used our learning about the things we would be able to do there such as dance, sing, play an instrument, ride a bike, speak French, and draw! The carnival floats are made out of lemons and oranges therefore there were lots of sports people including a swimmer, a skateboarder, a rugby player and a rower.
Year 4 have been learning the French for ‘I am able to……’(Je peux….) and the negative form of ‘I am not able to….’ (Je ne peux pas…..). We played a game and used stations around the playground and ran to the correct one translating from English to French and French to English!
