Maths
During our first week back we have continued with our work on division; remembering what we had learnt before half term. We then applied our learning to missing number questions. How could we solve...
3 x ____ = 52 and ____ x 4 = 96

Next, we thought about the perimeter of regular polygons. If we know the length of one side, we can use our multiplication skills to find the perimeter. Also, if we know the perimeter, we can use our division skills to find the length of one side.

Fractions
We did some deep thinking today to try to remember as much as we could from our learning about fractions from the Autumn. Some partner talk help to jog our memories.
Continuing with our learning about fractions, we have been adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator. We have also been comparing fractions with the same denominator using “greater than” and “less than”. Some of us tried some very tricky challenges...

We have been weighing, comparing mass and reading scales. We have used words like equal, heavier and lighter.
We know that 1 kilogram = 1000 grammes

We had to look closely at the start and interval to read the scales. Can you count in steps of 100, 200 and 250?
