Published legends
After reading Beowulf, the children planned and wrote their own legends. They created their own story with their own villain and hero. The children worked really hard through the whole planning and writing process, trying to include exciting writing features such as similes and expanded noun phrases to make it engaging to a reader.
Once they finished writing their legends, they published them in neat, making them look like old legends that have been told for years!
