Science
The children have been working as geologists, studying different rocks. They started by observing and sketching them before learning how the different rocks are formed.

The children have been learning about fossilisation. They started by exploring how they thought fossils we formed, ordering a sequence of pictures. Once they had seen the process we tried to replicate how a fossil is made. We used bread for the layers of soil, jelly babies as the creatures and jam as layers of minerals. After they had layered it all up they placed it in a bag and then sat on it to replicate the pressure! Then we had a look at the results!
