Studying a Poem
After looking at the poem Cat! by Eleanor Farjeon the children thought about what the poem was about and who the narrator could be. The children then focused on onomatopoeia and assonance. They identified these features and they had a go at creating their own for their finished poems. They also read poems and magpied words and phrases, again to support them with their final poem.
