After we recapped our learning about the pouches that a wealthy Roman might have carried at Fishbourne Roman Palace, we looked at pictures of the sort of purses and pouches we could make. We thought about the sewing skills we would need. Then we practised threading our needle, tying knots in our thread and sewing running stitch on our pieces of Binca. We tried really hard to be Independent.

We looked at different purses to help get ideas for our own designs. What shapes might work best? What colours would we use? Which parts would we need to sew.

We can up with our designs and then made a paper template.

Cutting the we pinned our template onto the coloured felt and then tried to carefully cut it out.

We were really impressed with the Never Give Up and Teamwork shown while making and sewing our purses today.
