Does the weight of a seed effect dispersal?
Following the previous lesson in which the children learnt all about the different types of seed dispersal, today the children carried out their own investigation.
The children planned and enquiry and investigated whether the weight of a seed effects how far it disperses, and therefore the success of its dispersal.
They had to carefully plan the investigation to make sure that it was a fair and scientific test.
The children used 4 different materials with different weights to make seeds from: paper, card, blue roll and tissue paper. They then dropped each seed from the same height and measured how far it travelled, using a metre stick.
