Geographical Fieldwork
Fieldwork with Winchester University:
Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon working alongside trainee teachers from Winchester University. We had a visit from 21 primary trainee teachers who specialise in geography work. The afternoon was spent exploring and engaging with the amazing outdoor space we are lucky enough to have. The purpose of the afternoon was to develop observational skills, taking a new perspective and enjoying geographical fieldwork. It was a brilliant afternoon that the children engaged in and loved with one child saying “This was the best afternoon ever, can we do this everyday?” Activities varied per group from using mirrors and dental mirrors, sticks, charcoal maps, little people, clay, string and more. What an afternoon we all had!
