This week, the children have been looking at the rules for adding -ous again but this time when a word ends -ge and the g is a "j" sound. In this case, the usual rule of "Drop the -e and add -ous" does not apply. This time the -e remains on the end of the word.

Eg. courage - courageous

 

Other children may have the words:

little, bottle, battle, castle, settle, possible, able, terrible.
