Understanding Volume and Capacity
Today, we explored how to define the measure of volume. We then made different shapes with the same volume and compared them with each other. We compared different volumes.
Year 5 are still working hard on fractions, this week continually using their whiteboard tables to help each other figure out what to when we add and subtract fractions with same and different denominators.
Today we started learning about equivalent fractions. We used fraction blocks to help us find and create equivalent fractions before moving on to the abstract method of “Doing the same to the denominator as we do to the numerator “ or vice versa!
