In maths we have been doing lots of work on 2D and 3D shapes and their properties as well as on measuring length in centimetres, metres and millimetres. 

We have also been exploring the relationship between multiplication and division and practising our vertical multiplication written method.

Let’s Think Maths

We are doing some fabulous Let’s Think lessons in maths where we can explore some really interesting maths idea and have fun at the same time!  This term so far we have explored the question “which is the largest rectangle?”  We work in pairs and groups to ask questions and discuss ideas.

This week we have been looking at measures and thinking about how to measure larger spaces.  We practices using the metre sticks and trundle wheels to measure outside.  We tried to record in metres and centimetres.

Later in the week we looked at the link between metres and centimetres and tried converting from one to the other.  2m and 17cm is the same as _____cm?
