Today, we worked in pairs to solve problems. We used counters to help us add and take away multiples of 10 and then we worked together to record our answers in different ways. We are learning to coach and guide each other, consolidating our learning by explaining it to others.
Explaining our thinking
In maths, we are constantly explaining our methods and reasoning in order to deepen our understanding of concepts. Sometimes we even take over from Mrs Yates and explain our ideas to the class!
