This session, we started exploring our new topic of sound by investigating the question 'how are sounds made?' We also enjoyed experimenting with sounds and discovering about vibrations.
During this session, we investigated and answered the key question of 'How do sounds travel?' First we enjoyed using our prior knowledge to decide whether synchronised swimmers can hear the music while they are underwater and why/why not. We discovered that in fact they can because sound can travel through liquids as well as the air and solids . Next, we made string telephones and explained how sound can travel through them and into our ears.
