Trip to the Sustainability Centre
This week, both classes visited the Sustainability Centre to learn more about the Anglo-Saxons and how they lived. We linked this to sustainability by thinking about whether the Anglo-Saxons were more or less sustainable than us today.
We started the day by gathering around a fire and looking at lots of artefacts, whilst being told about the life of the Anglo-Saxons, including their jobs, where they lived and warfare.
The children then played some outdoor games to imagine life as a working Anglo-Saxon child. This included whack a rat and stoning crows!
In the afternoon, the children took part in a clay archaeology session and a fence weaving lesson!
