How did the Vikings travel to other countries so effectively?
Today we learnt all about how the Vikings became such expert ship builders and sailors. We used videos, images of artefacts and information around the room to help us learn all about the famous longships.
What did the Vikings wear on their feet?
We watched a video all about Viking clothes, making notes on our observations of what Vikings wore, the fabrics they used and the differences between the clothing of rich and poor. We then examined more closely images of Viking shoes that have been found on excavations of Viking settlements in the past. After this we worked in groups to make our on models of a Viking shoe using only masking tape and newspaper.
Viking Day!
We had great fun at school today welcoming lots of Vikings into the classrooms! Treehouse theatre visited and taught us a play in a day which was a clever way of helping us to learn all about the life and times of the Vikings in Britain.
