Wednesday 8th May - Years 3/4 Multi-skills Competition, Kings’ School
On Wednesday we took a team of 6 girls and 6 boys to Kings’ School to take part in a multi-skills competition. They completed a carousel of activities to test their strength, mobility, power, speed, agility and balance. Extra points were awarded for demonstrating teamwork, passion, self-belief, determination, respect and honesty. Once again the children did us proud and showed many of these values throughout the event.
I am pleased to announce that Merdon scored the most points overall and will be respresenting Eastleigh and Winchester District at the Hampshire Youth Games final in June. Well done all!
Monday 20th May - Kwik Cricket Tournament, Hursley Park CC
On Monday we took a team of 10 cricketers to compete in a Kwik Cricket Tournament at Hursley CC. Our cricketers played brilliantly, winning matches against St Peters and Winnall before losing their last match to Knightwood. The day was enjoyed by all and we were really impressed by the skills the children showed on the day - well done all!

Tuesday 21st May - High 5 Netball Tournament, Barton Peveril College
On Tuesday we took two netball teams to Barton Peveril College to take part in the Eastleigh Schools Netball Tournament. This was a 'High 5' tournament which meant that each player had to rotate positions at the end of every quarter, providing all players the opportunity to try out different positions on the court. Both teams won ALL of their games and went through to a Merdon v Merdon final! The final was brilliant to watch and exciting to the very end. I am pleased to announce that Merdon A team will be representing the district at the Hampshire Games in June. Well done to all!
