Wednesday
Our last day!
After breakfast the children had the opportunity to view replica weapons from WW1, then it was off to the trench! Once in the trench we carried out our morning duties, keeping guard and watching the enemy, cleaning our rifles and then rifle inspection!! Duties completed we were ready to go over the top. When the whistle blew we had to climb out of the trench and make our way towards the enemy. Finally we paid our respects to the fallen soldiers, using the poppies that we made yesterday. A special moment shared by us all.
The afternoon was spent at The Tank Museum, looking at the use of horses and then tanks in WW1. A great end to our residential!
