Our Marathon challenge was kick-started today as Year 5 returned to school. We are planning to run the 26.2 miles (42,000m) in 19 days, meaning we are running around 2000m a day. This half term the marathon is our PE and links to our Greek topic. This is going to be a tough but rewarding challenge for us all. Year 5 are ready and raring to go over the next 4 weeks. We will update you on our progress!
We’re over half way!!
Today our Year 5 superhero’s reached the half way point, 89 laps down, 79 to go. That’s a total of 22,250m ran so far. They are all doing such a great job, persevering and pushing through the challenge. So much determination from them as they continue to raise money for their chosen charities. Well done Year 5!!
We did it!
Today we completed the last mile of our epic Marathon challenge. We wore orange and blue to support our two chosen charities. Year 3 came to watch and cheer us on. It was such an inspiration to see everyone running, making a huge effort to complete the challenge to the next of their ability. What a year group! Everyone was awarded with a special medal and ice lolly!
